How to wear this season's rising hems

It's the itty bitty teeny mini...how will you even wear this ever-so-short rising hem? With mini skirts never going out of style, choose the style (and length) that works for you and your body type. Read on to learn how to wear this season's rising hems.

Things You'll Need:

A mirror
Various skirts
A needle and thread (optional)
A friend that tells the truth

Step
1

Search through your closet to see the types of dresses, shorts and skirts you have. Try them on in front of the mirror to see how they look. Note items that flatter and items that don't. Put them in two piles. The "unflattering" pile can be hand-me-downs. Don't keep an old item for no reason.

Step
2

For the skirts, shorts and dresses that are keepers, ask your friend for her opinion. Try rolling up the waistband on all of these items to see if they look better shorter, or see if there is a hem that you can make the skirt longer.

Step
3

In the meantime, get those legs working. If you plan on wearing a mini, you must have firm legs (see Jessica Simpson in Dukes of Hazzard). Running or the elliptical are great for cardio and slimming down the legs. If you need to buff them up, try squats, lunges or light weight lifting.

Step
4

Pair the rising hemmed skirt with a flattering, but not skin bearing, top. You already are showing off you leg. No need to show off any more skin.

Tips & Warnings

Work out those legs.
Try on various styles and lengths.

Always bend over to see if the skirt is a good length. If you can see your underwear when you bend over, it is too short.
Choose the right undergarments. Don't let your thong show.
